3D Environments -- Backyard -- Mid term

Here is my revised exterior. I made these changes:
  • I made the tree house bigger to help make it be more of the focal point
  • Added the flag to the other side of the tree house and made it bigger
  • I found a squirrel and little girl models from creativecrash.com. I had trouble painting the little girl model in Mudbox, it was buggy so I did the best I could and made a few fixes in post.
  • I added the blue flowers and put them in the foreground
  • I added the tire swing
  • Fixed the textures of the toys so that they were Glossy plastic
  • I smoothed out the bucket
  • I re-textured the fence
  • I had extreme issues with the alpha halo and the fix you suggested didn't work so I had to go in with the eraser tool and do what I could. I didn't have time to erase/clone everything
  • I added background trees to the background plate and changed the sky
  • I moved the other tree and directional light
  • I fixed the lighting on the grass and made more of a clump around the base of the trees
  • I tried to put vines on the fence, tree and treeshouse but had issues again with painting on the asset and then it dissappearing. I could not find it in the scene
  • I added the No Girls Allowed sign on the treeshouse, which I thought would be funny since there was a little girl peeking out, like she defied her brother by going where she "didn't belong"
  • I changed the sand but had no luck with the sand shader I downloaded from creativecrash.com. It downloaded as an .ma file and when looking up how to load shaders into the library, the files they require are .mi files and I could not find how to convert the .ma file to an .mi file
  • I made the texture of the shovel lighter

  1. The fixes are great!! I want to work with you to make this better though. Bring your render passes to class and we will recomp this. The extreme (too blurry) shadow on the treehouse may be too much darkness for the scene. Everything looks too overcast. Please take the character out because it distracts too much. Lastly, fix the flag by using maya's ncloth.
